Hivemapper is a decentralized map built by people using their dashcam and smartphone. It represents a fundamental shift in how maps are built. Forward looking businesses use our Map API. Our broad customer base spans enterprise tech, mapping and navigation, transportation and logistics, insurance and real estate, etc.

About the team
The general engineering team is responsible for partnering with other teams to build and maintain the core products and systems that run Hivemapper.
This includes full-stack ideation and development of web interfaces and maps (dashboards, interactive maps, data exploration tools, data annotation tools, mobile apps, edge compute, UIs and design systems, frontend architecture, data models, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement robust and high performance applications and their supporting systems
- Work closely with supply, growth, and other engineering teams to deliver data-intensive product solutions
- Integrate our core systems with a complex decentralized, quantitative-heavy web3 system
- Solve interesting graphics programming, algorithms, UX, and architectural challenges
- Research and develop novel edge compute
- Research and develop new ways to visualize and interact with data on a map
- Help foster engineering excellence across software development
Qualifications
- Experience building applications that deal with large volumes of data
- Experience working with or building geospatial APIs and content systems
- Experience building systems that process large volumes of data
- Experience or interest in using the following: AWS, Typescript, Node, React, React Native, MongoDB, Solana, Python, ECS, Kubernetes
- Demonstrated experience building and testing features end to end with a keen interest in UI/UX design as it pertains to interacting with large volumes of mapping or scientific data
- Experience shipping and supporting code running at scale
- You are always interested in new challenges and are comfortable learning new technologies.
