Role Overview
Boom Supersonic is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Systems Engineer to join the Overture development team.
Responsibilities include supporting the design of the Electro-Mechanical Systems on the Overture Supersonic Airliner, working with the Overture Design Group to assist in electro-mechanical system design and support of other multi-disciplinary development activities of the Overture aircraft.
Responsibilities
Work with the Overture design group supporting Electro-Mechanical & Flight Sciences disciplines to assess the functions and characteristics of various aircraft electro-mechanical systems
Perform assigned analysis and design tasks as assigned by the Electro-Mechanical Systems Leadership to produce equipment and systems designs that meet Overture’s requirements
Support development of architecture for the Electro-Mechanical Systems for Overture
Evaluate system and component behavior related to compliance of safety requirements and assess operational effects in presence of failures
Creation of tools for Electro-Mechanical Systems development
Capturing, validating and verifying requirements necessary for the development and certification of Overture Electro-Mechanical Systems
Required Education, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering with 5 to 12 years of experience in aerospace or an equivalent combination of technical education and aerospace experience
Working knowledge of the common industry practices used to capture requirements and associate them to electro-mechanical systems
Fundamental understanding of the operating principles for a wide range of sensors, such as: position sensors, velocity sensors, pressure sensors, force sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopes
Fundamental understanding of the mathematics and physics employed when modeling and control of physical systems
Fundamental understanding of the design of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical feedback control systems using time domain and frequency domain techniques.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with different groups internally and externally
Preferred Education, Skills and Abilities
Experience designing to requirements for an aircraft development or production program.
Experience supporting requirement changes for a complex program.
Experience working with requirements from FAA and other aviation certification agencies (EASA, Transport Canada) on requirements capture, management, validation & verification, including development of compliance checklists.
Experience in a leadership role on at least one project
Flight test program experience
Compensation
The Base Salary Range for this position is $96,000 - $150,000. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Boom’s total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives/equity, an open PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.

To conform to U.S. Government aerospace technology export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
