How You'll Contribute:
- Draft, review, revise, and negotiate domestic and international commercial contracts, channel partner contracts, SaaS agreements, contracts with public entities and governments (local, state, federal), license agreements, and professional services agreements.
- Advise on privacy related matters (including state data privacy and security laws).
- Identify business and legal risks and issues and suggest practical alternatives that allow the business of the company to move forward in compliance with domestic and international laws, rules, and regulations.
- Provide counsel and advice to cross-functional stakeholders and on a broad range of matters related to new initiatives and products and other corporate, transactional, privacy and regulatory matters.
- Operate as a subject-matter expert for legal and regulatory matters (specifically healthcare and public health) relating to commercial agreements and privacy issues.
- Ensure consistency of contract terms with company policies and goals.
- Help update and implement scalable contracting policies, procedures and systems.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- JD degree and bar admission.
- 4+ years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, license agreements, and other agreements.
- Comfortable conducting research and finding answers to novel questions.
- Experience with privacy and data protection regulations, including state privacy laws like CPRA.
- Experience working with technology companies, biotechnology companies (commercial stage), SaaS companies, and/or start-ups.
- Strong critical thinking and strategic skills
- Experience working on agreements in regulated industries, such as fintech, healthcare or healthtech.
- Excellent client service focus and ability to prioritize workflow and manage multidimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, but also comfortable with taking ownership of projects and driving them to conclusion.
- Skilled at balancing legal risk with business objectives to get deals done.
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of sometimes novel legal matters.
- In-house commercial counsel experience (a plus but not required).
- Healthy sense of humor and passion for Color's mission.
