What You’ll Do
- Support Financial Accounting Operations
- Prepare assigned month-end close areas - including reconciliations for payroll, A/R, and equity
- Calculate and record journal entries for B2B revenue and associated commission payouts and expense
- Prepare and file sales tax and VAT/GST returns
- Support regular audits and maintain best-in-class internal controls
- Drive our Reporting
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports and dashboards (P&L, budget vs. actuals, KPIs, etc.) that provide actionable insight into Hallow’s performance
- Build and maintain reporting packages for internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Analyze trends, flag anomalies, and offer insights or potential root causes for variances
- Prepare recurring reports, including investor metrics, department headcount, and financials
- Maintain reporting integrity through GL/class/department mappings and cross-functional structure alignment
- Enable Strategic Analysis
- Support key cross-functional initiatives with data and insight (e.g., marketing ROI, team growth, international expansion)
- Collaborate with teams across Product, Marketing, Sales, B2B, and International to bring financial clarity to decision-making
- Deliver timely ad hoc reporting and custom analysis to leadership and department leads
- Improve Processes & Scale
- Identify and implement process improvements or automations to streamline reporting, reduce manual work, and improve accuracy
- Support system upgrades or tool enhancements in collaboration with the finance team
- Help build scalable systems as Hallow continues to grow

What We’re Looking For

- Detail Oriented: In order to make key strategic decisions for the business, we to have 100% confidence in our data and reporting. You will be the lynchpin for this.
- Ownership Mindset: You’ll be on the front lines, dealing with all the data that drives our most important KPIs as a business. You’ll be as well placed as our CFO and CEO to see what is going on in the business and are looking for someone who gets excited about not only asking the question “is this right?” but also “what does this mean?”
- Organization: You will have a tremendous amount of ownership (with support) and autonomy. It will take an organized and disciplined person to make sure all the trains arrive on time.
- Flexibility: You’ll be managing various recurring tasks, ad-hoc requests, and larger projects. Your output will require creative thinking to solve complex problems, both finance and accounting prowess, and coordination among various teams.
- Experience: 2+ years experience in accounting, finance, and/or FP&A - preferably in a SaaS or startup environment. Should be familiar with Consumer and B2B SaaS KPIs, dashboards, and BI software. Tax experience a plus. Must have strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.
- Grit: We’re a startup - fast-paced, resourceful, and mission-obsessed. You’ll need grit, ownership, and comfort with ambiguity as you help shape how finance works at Hallow. A start-up is tough and we really care about what we’re doing. You'll be jumping into a role in a fast moving organization - perseverance and the ability to make progress independently will be critical.
