Position Overview:

We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team in Mexico City. As a Bookkeeper at Nelo, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic fintech company on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable
  • Maintain accounts receivable, issue of invoices and supporting documentation
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Prepare and process invoices for payment.
  • Generate financial reports and assist in financial analysis as needed.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Previous experience or willingness to learn SQL.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in the fintech industry or with financial technology products.
  • Familiarity with International accounting standards and Mexican regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of tax preparation processes and requirements.
  • English Proficiency
