About Nelo
Nelo is a leading fintech in Mexico, reimagining credit to expand consumers buying power through cards, loans, bill payments and a marketplace. With over $300M USD in annual GMV and $140M+ raised in equity and debt, we are on a mission to transform the way consumers use credit in the region. Our lean and technical team includes alumni from Uber, Rappi, DiDi, and Amazon, operating across Mexico City and New York.

We move fast, think deeply, and hold a high bar for execution — and we're looking for someone who thrives in that environment.

Role Overview
We’re hiring an Operations Analyst/Manager to own the backbone of Nelo’s financial operations— reconciling transactions, managing disputes, and strengthening vendor relationships. As the go-to for portfolio reconciliation, you’ll work closely with data, CX, product, and finance teams to ensure accuracy and completeness, blending analytical rigor with relationship management to keep our operations running flawlessly.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end reconciliation of card, bill payments and cash loan transactions

  • Master transaction rules and heuristics

  • Manage the relations with processors, card networks and payments infrastructure vendors including reporting, invoicing, pricing and contract negotiations

  • Optimize processing cost and commission revenue

  • Build dashboards and reports to track KPIs and ensure accuracy on reconciliations

  • Track disputes, chargebacks and refunds with processors and sellers

  • Manage our card inventory

  • Own sellers settlements

  • Build conviction through data: help leadership shape informed opinions

  • Identify opportunities to improve data clarity, automation, and consistency

  • Apply creativity in how data is visualized and communicated

Who You Are

  • 2-5 years of experience in data or operations in a technology or financial services company

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, economics, finance or mathematics

  • Strong command of SQL/python — comfortable pulling and cleaning your own data and building your own dashboards

  • Deeply analytical with a systematic approach to problem solving

  • Thrive in ambiguity, move fast without sacrificing accuracy and don't wait for perfect data to act

  • Independent, can work without hand-holding or micromanagement

  • Spanish fluency required; professional English proficiency essential

Nice to Have

  • Experience in lending, fintech, or consumer marketplace

  • Familiarity with Python / Jupyter notebooks

  • Experience with Metabase, Hex, Looker, PowerBI or other dashboarding tools

  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements within payments

What We Offer

  • A high-impact role where you will be responsible for a core function of our product

  • Accelerated learning and exposure to seasoned fintech operators

  • Competitive compensation and equity

  • Full medical, dental & vision insurance (100% covered)

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Relocation support (if applicable)

  • A high-performing team that values trust, velocity, and outcomes
