[Nuvocargo](http://www.nuvocargo.com/) is reinventing the $2 trillion freight forwarding industry. We are a digital-first freight forwarder using a mix of technology and exceptional service to help companies seamlessly move products across the Americas, starting with the biggest trade lane in the world: Mexico ⇄ USA cross-border trucking. We were ranked #2 on Fast Company's most innovative companies in 2022 and as a Y Combinator Top Company, and we are looking for top talent to embrace this adventure. ## The opportunity for you As an IT & Systems Associate, you'll own the day-to-day IT experience for our team while going well beyond traditional support: you'll administer our SaaS and identity stack, support and improve our operational automations, work hands-on with data (SQL), and help turn recurring support patterns into real product improvements. This is an ownership role for someone who wants to operate with autonomy, not wait for tickets. A big part of your impact will come from understanding how our business actually runs, logistics and operational processes, so you can translate real problems into technical and automated solutions, and help the whole company get more value out of AI. You'll work closely with teams across the organization, including Finance, Operations, People, and Engineering, and use AI as a force multiplier across everything you do. Reporting directly to the Sr. IT Manager, you'll provide direct support to end users, drive best practices, own onboarding/offboarding, and take real ownership of our internal tooling and automations. If you have experience in on-site IT support (direct user support, hardware/software asset management, account and identity management) and you're the kind of person who instinctively automates repetitive work, is comfortable in SQL and data, understands operational processes, and is fluent with modern AI tools, this role could be a perfect fit. ## What you'll do in a typical week - Provide customer-facing IT support for employees: software, hardware, integrations, cameras/videoconferencing rooms, and transactional issues. - Manage identity and access through JumpCloud (accounts, provisioning, SSO, device policies). - Administer and troubleshoot our SaaS stack (Google Workspace, Notion, Zoom, Linear, GoTo and others). - Set up, maintain, and upgrade hardware and devices (macOS and Windows); handle asset management (laptops, phones, etc). - Partner with People Operations to run employee onboarding and offboarding. - Own the internal support intake and triage — resolve tier-1/tier-2 issues, escalate cleanly, and gather insights across requests to surface recurring problems, collaborating with the product and engineering teams on the ones that need to be addressed by engineering. - Support and operate our process automations (zapier/n8n). Understand how our key operational workflows run, keep them healthy, troubleshoot when they break, and improve or build new ones as needed. - Act as incident manager: spot recurring support patterns and, using our internal AI tooling, help convert them into specs and improvements to our internal TMS (NuvoOS). - Leverage AI and help the team get more out of it: use AI tools (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT) daily to work faster and solve problems, and help the rest of the team do the same, sharing what works and spotting repetitive tasks AI could remove. - Support operational data & analytics work: maintain the vendor management file and assist with AR/AP reconciliation using SQL and SuiteQL. - Support NetSuite operations and integrations alongside Finance. - Support our cybersecurity posture: endpoint and SIEM monitoring, security best practices, and awareness. ## What you know ## Must-have - Minimum 2 years experience in IT / technical support or IT operations. - A business-first mindset: you don't need to be a logistics or finance expert on day one, but you're genuinely curious about how Ops, Sales, Finance and other teams work, and you enjoy digging into their problems to find and build solutions. - Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish (English proficiency is non-negotiable). - Hands-on experience supporting both macOS and Windows, hardware, and on-site setups. - Experience administering SaaS platforms and identity/access management (JumpCloud, OKTA, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or similar). - Ability to use SQL to answer operational questions, investigate data discrepancies, and support troubleshooting. - Experience supporting and operating process automations (n8n, Zapier, or similar) with a genuine instinct to automate before adding effort. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and customer-service skills. - Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to solve problems, automate repetitive tasks, and improve productivity. ## Desirable (nice to have / grow into) - Experience with NetSuite or another ERP. - Coding expertise (Python, JavaScript, HTML or SQL). - Interest in improving systems by identifying recurring issues and helping drive long-term product or process improvements. - Experience with any CRM/ticketing tool, and with API integrations. - Cybersecurity knowledge (SIEM, endpoint protection, security operations). ## Who you are - You're always asking "why is this still manual?" You have a builder's instinct to simplify how work gets done, using automation and AI to remove repetitive tasks before they become a habit. - You move with speed. You make decisions and overcome obstacles fast, and you're not afraid to get into the nitty-gritty across different stakeholders. - You take ownership. You're a self-starter who operates with autonomy and steps out of your comfort zone in the quest for improvement and innovation. - You are disciplined and organized. You balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and bring accuracy and attention to detail. - You are low ego. Collaboration is your best method. - You find joy in excellence. You love doing things the right way and constantly look for ways to improve your work, your team, and your processes. - You are both a great communicator and listener. You synthesize inputs from different sources and write clearly and concisely, especially when things feel messy. English and Spanish proficiency is a must. - You have worked with both macOS and Windows. ## Location & Schedule - Based in Mexico City (CDMX). This is a hybrid role with working days and hours aligned with Operations shift - Monday to Friday (2 to 3 days working remotely). ## What we offer - A unique & fun culture at the intersection of the freight and technology industries, and between USA and Latin American work cultures. - Competitive salary, benefits, and a robust employee stock ownership program to make you an owner and partner of the business. - A chance to join a well-funded, fast-growing startup modernizing a trillion-dollar industry critical to the global economy.
