Job Description:

As a sustaining engineer, you will work alongside design engineering, manufacturing engineering and fleet engineering to ensure our aircrafts are performing above expectation.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Sustaining, you will be responsible for supporting the mechanical design and production development of Shield AI's autonomous UAV products. You will be the interface between engineering and manufacturing, supporting production deployment of new products and maintaining existing product lines. You will lead design for manufacturing, cost reduction, production line optimization, and new vendor qualification efforts for new and existing Shield AI products. You will architect new products, perform the detailed design of complex electro-mechanical assemblies, and will use best in class design and analysis tools. You will collaborate closely with internal and/or external partners to prototype, test and release products to production. You will also ensure product features achieve performance, schedule, and reliability goals.

Required qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Product life cycle experience
  • SolidWorks, NX experience
  • PDM/PLM software experience
  • A demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others

Preferred qualifications:

  • Aerospace experience
  • Familiarity with composite material manufacturing
  • Manufacturing engineering
Total compensation: Salary within range listed above + Bonus + Benefits + Equity (if applicable)
