Job Description:
The Quality Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of inspectors and technicians dedicated to maintaining the quality of products in the operations department. This role ensures that all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and regulations, while meeting customer specifications and expectations.
What You'll Do:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of inspectors and technicians within the Quality department.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100, and any other relevant certifications.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality inspection protocols and procedures.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist technicians in solving quality issues.
- Monitor and review inspection and test data, identifying trends, and initiating corrective action as necessary.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to quality team members, promoting a culture of quality and excellence.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and other departments to ensure quality products are delivered on time.
- Maintain clear communication with senior management and provide reports on quality activities and performance metrics.
- Perform internal audits, facilitate third-party audits, and ensure audit findings are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
- Participate in the development and review of specifications for products or processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing, with at least years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- In-depth understanding of aerospace quality standards and regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in quality assurance (CQA) or quality engineering (CQE) is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of quality tools and software, including statistical analysis, process mapping, and root cause analysis.
