Introduction to Shield AI
Founded in 2015, Shield AI is a venture-backed defense technology company whose mission is to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems. In pursuit of this mission, Shield AI is building the world’s best AI pilot. Its AI pilot, Hivemind, has flown a fighter jet (F-16), a vertical takeoff and landing drone (V-BAT), and a quadcopter (Nova). The company has offices in San Diego, Dallas, Washington DC and abroad. Our 2024 Summer Internship program is a wonderful opportunity for rising 2025 graduates to immerse themselves in an innovative and mission driven culture. A summer intern in the government compliance team assists in ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant governmental regulations and standards. They work under the guidance of senior team members, reviewing documents, policies, and practices to identify areas of potential non-compliance. The intern may also help in updating documentation, attending relevant training sessions, and liaising with different departments to gather required data. Their role is pivotal in supporting the team during busy periods and in maintaining the integrity of the organization's regulatory obligations. Additionally, the intern's fresh perspective can offer innovative solutions and highlight areas for process refinement.
What you'll do:
- Regulatory review and analysis
- Documentation support
- Process improvement
- Develop and deploy trainings across Shield AI
Required qualifications:
- Educational background: You are an undergraduate, graduate or PhD student expected to graduate in December 2024 or Spring 2025, with a major in Accounting, Finance, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field
- Analytical skills: ability to analyze complex documents and data, with keen attention to detail to identify discrepancies or areas of potential non-compliance
- Communication skills: effective written communication abilities, with the capacity to liaise between departments and present findings.
- Team player: ability to work collaboratively within a team setting, but also show initiative when working independently on assigned tasks
