- Build development plans and operational procedures to drive build out and efficient use of an advanced integration lab, facilitating fast paced and rigorous aircraft development.
- Design & build electro-mechanical fixtures, cable harnesses, and integrated hardware-in-the-loop solutions.
- Triage integration testing failures or errors, investigating & fixing hardware fixtures or test equipment as required
- Own configuration management of test assets and operations, identifying opportunities for automation & optimization
- Maintain and optimize inventory & access control of all lab testing assets
- Facilitate and prepare aircraft validation and operator-test events, including use of mission simulation software, HIL solutions, and formal test plans.
- Engage in system engineering development practices for our aircraft products, understand the system and derived needs for test coverage and test infrastructure
- Work with test engineers on the team to design test cases for system software & aircraft integration, ensuring the appropriate hardware infrastructure is built for automation.
- Report status, risks, accomplishments, expectations to senior leadership
- Create prototype hardware (circuit boards, cable harnesses, etc.) to unblock early product testing and assess technical limitations of our test capabilities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated track record of assuming ownership over development processes and features and delivering outstanding outcomes
- Proven track record of successfully shipping products, showcasing the ability to navigate through development cycles, overcome obstacles, and deliver high-quality solutions to meet project deadlines and exceed client expectations in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement within lab development projects, demonstrating initiative to propose and implement innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and overall project success
- Strong understanding of electronics and building hardware for testing complex systems
- Proficiency in reading software and analyzing data logs to root cause integration testing failures
- Good understanding of networking, including radio, ethernet, CAN bus devices.
- Experience producing high-quality technical documentation, including architecture, detailed designs, and test plans
- B.S., M.S, PhD degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline, such as Aerospace, Mechanical, or Robotics
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years and a Master’s degree; or 2 years with a PhD; or equivalent work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working on cutting-edge aircraft or robotic systems
- Proven background in thriving within fast-paced environments, particularly within startup or R&D settings
- Experience building advanced test labs for vehicle or aircraft systems
