What you'll do:
- Lead a team of between 2 and 6 engineers in designing, deploying, and maintaining test stands that support production and qualification of our aircraft.
- Perform regular 1:1s, provide career guidance, and document performance for all the individuals on your team.
- Contribute to the entire employee lifecycle, from candidate identification and interviewing to career growth, promotion, or separation.
- Develop documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for how things are done on the Hardware Test Engineering Team.
- Own requirements gathering, design, and validation of multiple test stands used to test components and subsystems on all our vehicles.
- Gain expertise in multiple disciplines within EE as you design test systems for power electronics, communications, RF, and more.
- Design simple to moderately complex PCBs that interface between the test stand and the device-under-test (DUT).
- Design test stands and test fixtures, which may include relays, PLCs, PCBAs, harnessing, and various other pieces of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Contribute to and attend cross-functional design reviews. Advocate for design changes that result in simpler testing processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
- Experience with PCB schematic and layout tools, including Altium, KiCAD, Eagle, etc…
- Mastery of fundamental engineering concepts, including EE, Mech E, Programming, Physics, and Mathematics.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary hardware development projects, which can be from an internship, job, club, team, personal project, etc…
- Demonstrated history of showing ownership of project outcomes and delivering exceptional results.
- Record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Python or any scripting language.
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, etc…
- Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and the ability to innovate under pressure to meet dynamic project demands and drive successful outcomes.
