Senior Jet Propulsion Test Engineer (R3444)

What you'll do:
- Prioritize safety above all else. You will work with our EHS team to ensure that all propulsion testing activities are being conducted in a safe manner.
- Own requirements gathering, design, and validation of multiple test stands used to test jet engines on our next-generation aircraft.
- Work with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to design test stands, test fixtures, instrumentation and telemetry systems, etc…
- Specify facilities requirements (electrical, plumbing, etc…) needed for the propulsion test stands.
- Contribute to and attend cross-functional design reviews. Advocate for design changes that result in simpler testing processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
- 6+ years' experience designing test stands for jet engines.
- Mastery of fundamental engineering concepts, including Mech E, EE, Programming, Physics, and Mathematics.
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, etc. (NX preferred).
- Familiarity with designing mechanical tooling or test fixtures.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary hardware development projects, which can be from an internship, job, club, team, personal project, etc.
- Demonstrated history of showing ownership of project outcomes and delivering exceptional results.
- Record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others.
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability to rapidly manufacture your designs in a machine shop.
- Experience with scripting languages, such as Python.
- Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and the ability to innovate under pressure to meet dynamic project demands and drive successful outcomes.
