What you'll do:
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or other machinery per job specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and machine settings.
- Make minor program edits and adjustments to ensure quality output.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Monitor production and troubleshoot issues during machining.
- Perform basic maintenance on machines and keep equipment clean and operational.
- Maintain documentation of work performed and quality checks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist in training junior machinists as needed.
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 3+ years of experience operating CNC machinery (mill and/or lathe).
- Familiarity with G-code programming and ability to make minor edits.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with quality control procedures and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work from setup sheets and follow standard operating procedures.
- Good math skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with 5-Axis CNC Machine Set-ups
- Experience with cutting tool selection and application
- Entry-Level CAM Experience
