What you'll do:
- Own the full-stack development, and optimization of the Shield AI website across all pages, systems, and technologies
- Translate initial designs into interactive, high-performance web experiences
- Design and ship new landing pages, microsites, and interactive content using Figma and front-end frameworks like WP Engine
- Define and manage scalable design systems, templates, and component libraries
- Implement performance enhancements, SEO best practices, accessibility standards, and mobile responsiveness
- Develop and extend themes and plugins to create custom solutions.
- Build and maintain third-party integrations (analytics, lead gen, CMS tools, etc.)
- Advise and mentor others on web best practices, technical feasibility, and scalable systems
Required qualifications:
- 5–8 years of experience in web design and front-end development with full-site ownership
- Strong portfolio of responsive, high-performance, design-forward websites
- Deep familiarity with WP Engine, including deployment workflows, caching/CDN settings, plugin management, and staging environments
- Advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS tools such as Webflow, WP Engine, WordPress, or custom stacks
- Expertise in Figma and UX/UI best practices
- Experience designing in Figma and translating into custom WordPress themes or builder-based systems (e.g., Elementor, Gutenberg, ACF)
- Experience managing site architecture, performance tuning, analytics tracking, and A/B testing
- Ability to balance creative and technical requirements with business priorities
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience in enterprise SaaS, defense, aerospace, or emerging tech industries
- Familiarity with visual storytelling through animation (Lottie, GSAP, After Effects → web)
- Experience implementing multi-language or region-specific websites, including language toggles, localized content structures, and internationalization best practices
- Experience with design tokens and systematized theming across design + dev
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
- Background in managing domain infrastructure, DNS, and web security best practices
