  • Prepare, submit, and maintain export license applications and agreements (e.g., DSP-5s, TAA, MLAs, BIS licenses).
  • Create and manage internal controls, including jurisdiction and classification workflows, visitor screening, and controlled technical data access.
  • Lead audits and assessments to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement in our trade compliance program.

Required qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, or equivalent legal training
  • 5+ years of experience in U.S. export compliance, including jurisdiction/classification and licensing under ITAR and EAR
  • Experience managing or administering export licenses and agreements through DECCS and SNAP-R
  • A strong understanding of trade compliance requirements in a tech or defense-focused environment
  • Familiarity with software technical data and technology controls and access restrictions
  • Demonstrated people management experience, including leading, mentoring, and developing compliance or cross-functional teams

Preferred qualifications:

  • You’ve built or scaled a trade compliance program at a fast-moving technology company.
  • You have experience working with government agencies (e.g., DDTC, BIS, DHS) during audits or disclosures.
  • You are comfortable working with engineers and product teams to interpret technical documentation and identify export control implications.
  • You hold a compliance certification (e.g., ECoP, ITAR/EAR training) or have completed relevant government export control training courses.
