What you'll do:
- Perform advanced welding and fabrication on complex components using MIG, TIG, and other welding processes.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Set up and operate manual and automated welding equipment with precision and consistency.
- Conduct weld inspections and testing in accordance with company-specific standards.
- Assist in weld procedure development, qualification, and documentation.
- Mentor and train lower-level weld technicians on best practices, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve weld-related issues.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all shop activities.
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 7+ years of hands-on welding experience, preferably in a field repair/manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Proficient in TIG and MIG welding on various materials (steel, stainless, aluminum, titanium, etc.).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Proven track record of meeting quality and production goals.
- Welding Certification(s) or equivalent professional credentials.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Orbital or Automated Welding Systems.
- Knowledge of NDT methods (visual, dye penetrant, radiographic, etc.).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Previous experience in defense, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing industries.
