Product Manager, Assured Edge Autonomy (R4504)
Shield AI
Shield AI's Hivemind platform is the leading software stack for autonomous air systems, and we are charting a clear path to airworthiness certification for AI-driven autonomy. As Product Manager for Assured Edge Autonomy, you will own the Assured Foundations product strategy and roadmap for some of the capabilities that make certification tractable — including runtime safety components, certifiable middleware, and requirements traceability tooling.
You will work across engineering, business development, and customer programs to translate complex regulatory requirements into buildable products and ensure Hivemind becomes the definitive platform for certified autonomous systems. This role is central to Shield AI's expansion into regulated aviation markets internationally.
What you'll do:
Own the product strategy and roadmap for the capabilities that allow our customers to quickly fly on critical systems.
Define and prioritize requirements for certifiable software components by collaborating with engineering teams, certification authorities, and key customers.
Lead the development and adoption of our tooling for assured software.
Partner with business development and engineering support teams to guide customer engagements from pre-commitment through authority approval, including safety case templates and certification guidance.
Represent the Assured Foundations product externally through whitepapers, technical briefings, and concept reviews for customers, program managers, and certification authorities.
Define and track success metrics such as certification milestone progress, SDK adoption, and engineering support utilization to guide roadmap priorities.
Required qualifications:
7+ years of technical product management experience on safety-critical, embedded, or avionics software products
Working knowledge of aviation software certification standards (DO-178C, ML-HDBK 516C, ASTM F3269-21, or equivalent),
Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, business development, and external customers on complex, multi-year technical programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate highly technical material into clear value propositions for both engineering and executive audiences
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with runtime assurance architectures, safety monitors, or formally verified software in autonomous or avionics systems
Background working with aviation OEMs, certification authorities, or program offices
Familiarity with real-time operating systems and deterministic middleware concepts including WCET analysis and static memory allocation
Prior experience owning traceability or test management tooling in a regulated development environment
Experience in international avionics markets
