Senior Engineer, Manufacturing - Material Flow (R4547)

What you'll do:
- Develop and implement layouts for material flow and storage to achieve targeted inventory levels for new and existing facilities. Ensure that storage strategies are aligned across the supply chain.
- Design and implement strategies for efficient material flow from receipt to production lineside and any reverse logistics required. Use value stream mapping to ensure end-to-end process optimization.
- Develop packaging solutions for use inside Shield AI facilities and between suppliers. Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure packages are optimized for efficiency, part safety, and logistics density.
- Create capacity models to ensure we have adequate storage solutions.
Required qualifications:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment, preferably working directly on material flow engineering solutions
- Ability to read technical documentation such as drawings and CAD data
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership driving projects from concept to completion
- Experience with material handling equipment and packaging design and implementation
- Experience with factory design and set up
- Experience with value stream mapping, continuous flow, single piece flow, and workstation design
- Understanding of a variety of hardware manufacturing processes for both electronics (PCBAs, sensor hardware, etc.) and structures, mechanical components, and electromechanical systems
