Reporting to our Program Director and Chief Product Officer, this is a full-time, exempt position.

The Child Mind Institute (CMI) is seeking a Director of Product Management for MindLogger, a platform that empowers clinicians, researchers, and educators to digitally deliver mental health assessments and interventions. This 2-year position will help CMI, through its partnership with California’s Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), build the next generation of the MindLogger platform and manage our engineering team. As part of CMI’s research team, our mission is to accelerate the pace of scientific innovation and discovery in mental health and learning, and help foster collaborations that can test, improve upon, and adopt innovative solutions for the benefit of every child.

This is a critical leadership role that spans all aspects of software product development. In this critical leadership role, you will partner closely with our product development leadership team to shape and execute the strategy and roadmap for MindLogger. As the team’s leader, you will lead a cross-functional team of software engineers, product designers, ux researchers, data scientists, and subject matter experts in executing our product roadmap on a daily basis. The team includes both internal and external resources. Working closely with our Engineering Director, you will help define the business strategy for the product (30% of your time), lead the day-to-day execution on the product roadmap (50%), and work closely with our strategic partners to ensure their success with the platform (20%).

What You'll Be Working On

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of all processes in the product life cycle, including business model definition, customer research, market analysis, product design, and technical development
  • Translate product strategy into OKRs and detailed requirements for development by product design and engineering teams
  • Manage all internal and external stakeholder communications for the product
  • Collaborate effectively with cross functional partners in product research, design, engineering, and data science along with our external partners
  • Communicate effectively to build consensus around product vision and priorities
  • Act quickly and decisively to execute your product vision
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry partners and thought leaders, staying informed on market trends and leveraging these insights to inform product development strategies
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse team environment, nurturing talent and providing opportunities for professional growth and development for all team members
  • Be driven by our mission of transforming children’s lives

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience
  • 7+ years leading and managing an engineering team
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant educational and professional experience
  • Mission-driven, and excited about working in the mental health space
  • Experience working and achieving success with diverse stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and experience building products from “zero to one”
  • Experience working with distributed software engineering, design, and research teams
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
