Job Description

Goal of project: Advance Abt’s storytelling and positioning for our global health portfolio via compelling content and targeted campaigns and products. Generate foundational messaging, promotional materials, and long-form feature writing within Abt’s primary health areas: systems strengthening/service delivery, global health security, and infectious/vector-borne diseases.

Promote our research, technical assistance, and thought leadership, collaborating with Abt’s dynamic corporate Marketing & Communications(MarComm) department.

Tasks:

  • Advance marketing strategy to position Abt Global as a source of new ideas and high-quality implementation of global health research and programs.
  • Develop client- and media-savvy content and coverage profiling Abt expertise and thought leadership in health aligned with account-focused marketing plans and new business opportunities. (This may include health-adjacent topics as needed, such as climate and health.)
  • Produce high-quality written materials, including blogs, reports, white papers, and press releases tailored for diverse audiences at global and country levels.
  • Develop, write, and tailor messaging, talking points, presentations, slipsheets, and other products and ensure all materials adhere to Abt and client standards, including accessible, inclusive, and plain language.
  • Stay abreast of and identify relevant channels, topics, and opportunities for Abt to engage; cultivate new positioning for these as needed.

Technical Skills:

  • Track record of developing global health content for marketing communications strategies and campaigns.
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; basic design skills (such as PowerPoint) a plus.
  • Deep understanding of USAID communications needs and preferences; knowledge of UK and/or Australia markets a plus.
  • Office 365, Microsoft Word

  • Journalistic sensibilities
  • Comfortable with global health topics within USAID context
  • 10-15 years performing in this role/discipline
