What’s the role?
The Product Marketing team at Etsy drives high value actions that enable customer growth and loyalty by developing the story and go-to-market strategy for what we’re building. We partner cross functionally to bring buyer products and features to market and drive engagement with features post launch.
As the Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will work at the intersection of consumer product development and marketing. You will be leading new product go-to-market strategy, product activation, and maximizing the lifetime value of our buyers at all stages of the funnel.
To be successful in this role, the Senior Product Marketing Manager will be a key partner in helping product teams articulate customer value and plan effective product delivery and launches while also advocating on behalf of marketing to ensure that product road maps support marketing strategies. You’ll operate in a highly cross-functional role, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Brand, Content, Analytics, Research, and Marketing to improve the buyer and seller experience through holistic and targeted marketing design to drive trial, engagement, and retention.
This is a full time contract role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Product Marketing.
This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. - Owning the consumer product marketing strategy to drive awareness, adoption, and engagement of features that help buyers connect with the right products and sellers on our platform.
- Leading competitive analysis on consumer product experiences to inform go-to-market plans
- Partnering with product, marketing and brand teams to determine what, where and how, and to whom we market key features and product launches, taking into account user needs and business objectives across Etsy’s core global markets.
- Narrating the user journey, uncovering user insights, and identifying key user needs to focus product roadmaps on the largest business opportunities.
- Serving as a key collaborator between the Product and Marketing organizations.
- Defining the target audience, crafting clear positioning statements and clearly articulating and communicating Etsy’s unique value proposition for buyers.
- Developing and aligning on-site and off-site marketing plans in collaboration with channel owners and the broader marketing team.
- Setting clear, measurable product marketing goals and track progress against them making continuous recommendations for how we can improve impact.

- Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

- 4+ years of consumer product marketing and/or consulting experience.
- Ability to use quantitative reasoning skills to inform strategies and tell a strong narrative.
- Strong command of quantitative and qualitative user research methods and applications, fluent in using data to make decisions, experience with growth marketing tactics, and deep experience partnering with B2C consumer product teams
- Experience simplifying complex concepts into impactful marketing.
- Track record of driving strong growth and results through product marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams while maintaining great relationships.
- Proficiency in SQL preferred.
