About the role

We’re seeking a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting that will play a meaningful role supporting the Accounting function at Chime! This role will report to the Director, Financial Reporting and will be a part of the team that is essential to the company’s internal and external financial reporting processes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help build and maintain our financial reporting processes, be a key contributor in our equity accounting function, and support major projects that impact the entire accounting organization.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $92,520.00 and up to $128,600.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Assist in the preparation and review of internal and external financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Maintain supporting documentation for financial statement footnotes, including preparing the quarterly tie-out
  • Own all aspects of equity accounting, including stock-based compensation (ASC 718) and EPS
  • Facilitate related party transaction reporting
  • Assist stock administration team on various monthly tasks and on an ad-hoc basis with various projects
  • Improve existing processes, controls, and documentation, suggest and implement improvements to scale and automate manual procedures
  • Collaborate with key-cross-functional partners including finance, investor relations, legal, and capital markets
  • Support the accounting team on critical accounting projects, including the implementation of system improvements, new product launches and other ad-hoc items
  • Support external audit requirements

To thrive in this role, you have

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of accounting or finance experience. Big 4 public accounting or public company experience preferred.
  • CPA, or CPA candidate preferred, with proven understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and experience in balancing multiple projects simultaneously to achieve results.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time and self-management skills & ability to prioritize
  • Phenomenal teammate with a positive attitude that embraces change and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, proactive and faces challenges head-on
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and digest mass amounts of data
  • Bonus Experience: Netsuite, Shareworks, Workiva Wdesk, and FloQast
