Manifest is a venture-backed cybersecurity startup, helping organizations around the world reduce their supply chain risk, and build/buy more secure software. We are a first-mover and leader in the software supply chain space, specifically around how organizations generate and operationalize software bills of material (SBOM).
We help:
Vulnerability analysts/SOC teams identify and respond to software vulnerabilities hidden in their supply chain. With Manifest, the 12-week hair-on-fire Log4j response could have been shortened to minutes, and repeated for the next major supply chain vulnerability.
Product/Application Security teams easily generate and manage SBOMs, and quickly reply to SBOM requests.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams streamline the process of evaluating and buying new tech (from printers to apps to medical devices), giving them more quantitative data to answer the question: “How risky is this asset we want to purchase?”

As a Software Engineer, you will
Help design, build, and implement new features to our platform that are high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly. Adapt and improve it in response to customer feedback.
Help architect, design, and implement a category-defining cybersecurity product.
Define and maintain the high standards of our engineering culture. As a part of a high performing engineering team, you’ll help recruit and onboard your colleagues
Work closely with product management, designers, and other engineers
Mentor junior engineers, and perform code reviews
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability in regards to UX
Resolve issues together quickly and collaboratively
Communicate internally and externally on what we’re building and why it’s special
Who we’re looking for
Manifest is looking for an experienced (Staff/Principal/Senior) Software Engineer with the following experience. This role can lean either to full-stack or backend heavy.
Demonstrated experience shipping scalable web apps, with an emphasis on secure and scalable stacks
Proficient in some combination of Node, Javascript/Typescript, React
Great at communicating implementation tradeoffs, error handling, performance & load time
Experience working with modern CI/CD and build platforms such as AWS, Docker, Terraform
Highly resourceful and able to deliver results quickly, focusing on end to end ownership and code quality
Honest about timelines and constraints, being proactive on how to best course correct in order to build the best product possible
Experience working in early stage technology (B2B SaaS) startups
Preferred skills
Experience working with SBOM and VEX
Experience in cybersecurity or cybersecurity companies
